COMMON_ACCESS is an internationally collaborative research project, brining researchers from six world renowned research institutions across five European countries together, with a shared mission of public empowerment. Each member contributes their own unique expertise to the project, ensuring a balanced approach to studying commoning accessibility practices to bridge the gap between research and practice. Enrica Papa

Enrica Papa is the coordinator of the COMMON_ACCESS project that focuses on uncovering communing accessibility solutions in suburban areas.
Enrica's primary research focus centres on sustainable accessibility planning, specifically enhancing inclusive mobility and reducing urban carbon emissions. This work has gained national and international recognition and aligns with the UK's 2050 decarbonisation targets. With an extensive body of work throughout her research journey, she has significantly contributed to the fields of accessibility and sustainable mobility and has profoundly impacted these domains, both at national and international levels.
Luca Bertolini

Luca Bertolini is Professor of Urban and Regional Planning and Director of the Centre for Urban Studies at the University of Amsterdam. His research and teaching focuses on the integration of transport and urban planning for humane, sustainable and just cities, concepts and practices to enable transformative urban and mobility change, and ways of enhancing collaboration across different academic disciplines and between academia and society.
Benjamin Büttner

Benjamin Büttner has worked at the Chair of Urban Structure and Transport Planning since July 2010. He received his PhD in engineering after having completed a German Diploma in geography. He currently works in the fields of accessibility planning and decision and policy making. Urban and transport planning, as well as governance, are the foci of his professional skills. He led multiple research projects ranging from regional to European level. Currently Benjamin Büttner is heading a research group on accessibility planning and has been designated co-chair of the NECTAR Accessibility.
Derek Halden

Derek founded transport system design business DHC in 1996, expanding technology system supply through the Loop Connections subsidiary from 2011. He has helped to design and apply accessibility planning approaches for UK Government Departments and internationally and to establish community based smart transport systems. He is former Chair of the Scottish branch of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.

Giovanni Lanza, PhD in Urban Planning, is a research fellow and adjunct professor at Politecnico di Milano (DAStU). His research centers on analyzing the socio-spatial implications of (im)mobility and accessibility in diverse territorial and social contexts. Through his doctoral studies and ongoing involvement in international research projects, as well as consulting for public administrations, he has developed and tested various methods for analyzing and measuring (im)mobility practices and accessibility levels.

Paola Pucci (MS Arch and PhD in Territorial Planning) is Full Professor in Urban planning and Research Director (from 2013 to 2018) of the PhD course in Urban Planning Design and Policy at the Politecnico di Milano.
Paola has contributed, assuming the role of a team coordinator, in national and international research projects funded on the basis of a competitive call, dealing with the following research topics: Mobility policy, accessibility and transport justice, mobile phone data for urban analysis and planning.
Lennert Verhulst

Lennert Verhulst has a Master’s degree in Social and Economic Geography. He is currently doing his PhD at Ghent University at the Social and Economic Geography research group. Previously, he contributed to two EIT Urban Mobility projects, SET and CLEAR, studying urban street experiments. In the Common_Access project, Lennert will study the travel behavioural impacts of commoning accessibility practices, focusing on the social dimension of accessibility and mobility.
Frank Witlox

Frank Witlox obtained his Ph.D. in urban planning from Eindhoven University of Technology. Currently, he serves as the Head of the Department and holds the position of Senior Full Professor of Economic Geography. His primary research focuses on travel behavior analysis and modeling. He is the current Editor-in-Chief of European Transport Research Review and a founding co-editor-in-chief of Journal of Urban Mobility. He holds two honorary doctorates from Tartu and Odesa, is a member of the Academia Europaea (MAE), and is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (FAcSS).
